The TECHNO-DRY dry cleaning machine uses an ingenious system of dual condenser distillation. Other systems use a single condenser in their distillation process. While the single system does distill the PERC, the TECHNO-DRY will use less energy doing the same job. With the dual condenser system, the cool dirty PERC is used to condense the hot PERC vapors from the still. This process occurs in the first condenser unit. In the second condenser unit, the warm liquid PERC is cooled to a usable temperature. Two major advantages are derived from using the cool dirty PERC to condense the hot PERC vapors from the still: first, the vapors are condensed without taxing the refrigeration system, and secondly, The cool dirty PERC is preheated to approximately 200 degrees F. on its route to the still. This means less energy is used during the distillation process. Advantage: Aside from the lower energy consumption, the immediate advantage to the customer will be a very high level of quality in the resulting dry cleaning product. Every load is cleaned with pure distilled solvent. TECHNO-DRY recommends a cationic soap be used to assure low cost to produce an exceptionally clean garment. The soil, after being displaced by the detergent, remains in the suspended state. Both the soil and the garments will be positively charged so they repel rather than attract, thus rendering a thoroughly clean garment. After seven (7) minutes of dry cleaning off the filter, a one shot "Roto-Disc" filter will filter the suspended soil. TECHNO-DRY recommends a three (3) minute filtration. Then the machine will drain, extract and dry. When the next load is started, the "Roto-Disc" filter will spin out the soil into the still. The filter holds approximately 4 liters of soil and solvent. Then the filter is rinsed with an additional 3 to 4 liters of distilled solvent. The filter is now clean and ready to commence its filtration in seven (7) minutes. Advantage: The TECHNO-DRY machine does not use paper replacement cartridges and does not expose the operator to cartridge or filter residue and muck. This eliminates the handling of toxic cartridges and the exposure to associated fumes. Other machines, in an effort to do away with cartridges, employ a large disc filter. The disc is spun every 50 to 60 loads, requiring the residue to then be removed. The Techno-Dry is filtering the distilled solvent and the soil it will filter out is the soil from just that specific load which is then spun into the still. The TECHNO-DRY advantage is not only to not have filter residue to handle but also a clean filter for every load of garments, assuring the highest quality dry cleaning possible. The TECHNO-DRY machine consumes a very low level of PERC due to the continuous distillation process, eliminating the need to handle paper cartridges and clean a spin disc filter. Additionally, the stills residue empties into a sealed hazardous waste collection container which comes with the machine. When full it then is emptied into a barrel for the hazardous waste management company to pick up. Installing solvent safety containment tanks under each machine insures the solvent will be captured in the safety tank in the unlikely event of a tank rupture or leak and also to comply with Federal regulations.
